Prompt response to my initial email and although I had to wait due to his work load it was worth the wait! Very efficient, tidy and polite workmanship. The finished piece is exactly as I discussed.

Storage unit and work station in bedroom

The work that was carried out was of a very high standard, Steve is very professional, meticulous in his approach, pleasant, hard working, punctual and tidy. Extremely pleased with the outcome, have booked him again for further work to be carried out.

Under stairs storage and a glass balustrade

Steve sourced and hung a new external wooden door within an existing glazed frame, plus refurbished the frame itself, which needed resealing and other remedial work. He has done an excellent job. He identified how to improve the frame and carried out the work meticulously. He takes great care over the details and is highly skilled. Steve was also pleasant and helpful to deal with, keeping in touch well and re-organising his busy schedule to work round the weather conditions. I would definitely employ him again if we needed carpentry or joinery work.

New door & refurbished window frame

Some internal steps in our house were dangerous (we are rather ancient and easily lose balance) and we also needed a new door fitted to divide up two rooms. We got several opinions from recommended people as to what was needed. Stephen was the only one who actually solved the safety issue completely. He also explained how he would make the new door blend in. He made the others look like amateurs. His work was excellent with full attention to detail. He is a lovely person and we will definitely use him again.

Rearranging steps. Fitting new new door

Steve had carried out some previous work for me and I was extremely pleased with the outcome. So naturally Steve was my first choice when I decided to get the kitchen renovated. I am so pleased with the outcome, the work has been carried out to a very high standard, Steve is meticulous in his approach, down to the last detail. He is engaging and approachable, offering advice where needed. Punctual, hardworking, and leaves the work area tidy before leaving for the day. I would most certainly recommend.

Carpenter for Canterbury Homes

Canterbury properties often need a measured approach. Homes around St Dunstan's, Northgate, Wincheap and St Stephen's may have alcoves, chimney breasts, uneven walls or limited storage. Student lets around Hales Place and Sturry Road often need durable fittings for regular use.

Central Canterbury can also mean narrow streets, parking restrictions, shared entrances and delivery limits. Tell us early so we can plan properly.

Common Local Storage Challenges

• Alcoves and chimney breasts
• Uneven walls
• Compact bedrooms
• Student let storage
• Worn timber details
• City-centre access
• Period features

We plan around these issues from the start.

Built Around Your Routine, Not Just Your Room

Good carpentry should make the space easier to use every day, whether that means better storage, a tidy kitchen finish or a garden building that suits how you work, store or relax.

Your project could include:
• Fitted wardrobes
• Built-in wardrobes
• Alcove storage
• Fitted kitchens
• Doors and frames
• Skirting
• Timber repairs
• Garden buildings

Our aim is simple: carpentry that fits well and works properly.
