SP Bespoke installed a built in wardrobe in Canterbury

Built in Wardrobes in Canterbury

Looking for built in wardrobes in Canterbury that make better use of your space and feel right for your home? We design and fit made-to-measure wardrobes for bedrooms, alcoves, dressing areas, loft rooms and awkward spaces across Canterbury and nearby villages.

Every home is different. Older properties around Westgate, St Dunstan’s and Northgate often have uneven walls, alcoves, chimney breasts or period features to work around. Newer homes in areas such as Wincheap, South Canterbury, Thanington and Blean may need clean, practical storage that keeps bedrooms tidy without making them feel smaller.

We build wardrobes around the room, not the other way round.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent. Steve fitted an oak internal bi-fold door into my home that needed bespoke modification to fit a slightly mismatched opening plus additional oak architraves. Steve is highly skilled and experienced, leaving a high quality finish with everything straight and running smoothly. High attention to fine detail and quality workmanship throughout, thoroughly planning the build in advance and cleverly concealing the fixings. Professional and courteous service. Digital written quotes and invoicing. Worked long hours and always cleaned up afterwards. Highly recommended.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Stephen was solid. Quick response, good communication, excellent work, and an actual invoice! Everything you expect of a professional business. I've asked him to come back to follow up on other bits. He also made no fuss about my cat going wild as he worked...bit plus!

Made-to-Measure Wardrobes for Canterbury Homes

Freestanding wardrobes can leave wasted gaps, block light and make a room feel awkward. Built in wardrobes use the full height, width and shape of the space, giving you better storage and a cleaner finish.

We can design simple fitted wardrobes for everyday use, traditional wardrobes for period homes, or more detailed bespoke wardrobes for high-end refurbishments. Internal layouts can include hanging rails, shelves, drawers, shoe storage, open sections and practical storage for awkward spaces.

We can create:

Full-height built in wardrobes

Alcove wardrobes

Fitted wardrobes for period bedrooms

Loft room wardrobes with sloped ceilings

Walk-in wardrobe storage

Wardrobes for guest rooms and rental properties

Domestic and commercial fitted storage

Designed Around Your Room

A good wardrobe starts with how the space is used. We look at what you need to store, how much hanging space you need, whether drawers or shelves would help, and how the doors should open.

This is especially important in smaller bedrooms, loft conversions and older Canterbury homes where standard furniture rarely fits well. We can work around chimney breasts, uneven walls, sloping ceilings and existing features so the finished wardrobes look settled and are easy to use every day.

For listed buildings or homes in conservation areas, we work carefully around the character of the property. If the work may affect protected features, we recommend checking whether consent is needed before starting.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do built in wardrobes in Canterbury cost?

The cost depends on the size, materials, internal layout and finish. A simple wardrobe with shelves and hanging space will cost less than a larger bespoke design with drawers, detailed doors or specialist finishes. We provide a clear quotation before work begins.

Are built in wardrobes worth it for small bedrooms?

Yes. Built in wardrobes are often ideal for small bedrooms because they use the available space more efficiently than freestanding furniture. They can also be designed with doors and internal storage that suit the room layout.

Can you fit wardrobes in older Canterbury homes?

Yes. Many older homes have uneven walls, alcoves, chimney breasts or original features. We build wardrobes to suit the actual room, giving a cleaner and more practical fit.

Can you make wardrobes for loft rooms?

Yes. Loft rooms often have sloping ceilings and awkward corners, which makes fitted wardrobes a good option. We can design storage around the shape of the room.

Can I choose the internal layout?

Yes. We can include hanging rails, shelves, drawers, shoe storage, open sections and other features depending on what you need to store.

Do you work on rental or commercial properties?

Yes. We fit wardrobes and built-in storage for homeowners, landlords, guest accommodation and commercial clients.

Do you cover villages around Canterbury?

Yes. We cover Canterbury and nearby areas including Blean, Chartham, Sturry, Fordwich, Bekesbourne, Patrixbourne, Harbledown, Thanington and wider Kent.
